Energía Argentina reached an agreement for the resolution of historical conflicts with the Transient Binding (UT) contractor of the work, a necessary step to move forward in the wake of the works of the Hydro power stations in the Santa Cruz River.
The signing of the agreement was headed by the president of Energy Argentina, Tristan Socas, along with the authorities of the UT, and counted with the presence of the governor of the province of Santa Cruz. In this framework it established the guidelines for managing the contract, minimize interruptions and resume the tasks that were severely slowed for years by contractual disputes, and suspended entirely unilaterally by the contractor from November 2023.
This situation of non-compliance sustained generated a significant accumulation of debt and various contractual disputes on technical, financial and legal.
From the start of the project, in 2013, the development of the dams was crossed by difficulties contract that impacted on the progress of the works. During nearly ten years, we have applied the mechanisms of redetermination of the prices provided in the contract, a situation which resulted in the accumulation of debt, and in the stagnation of the project.
Currently, the dam Jorge Cepernic records an increase from the work of 46 %. The same could be completed in 2030 and contribute to 1,860 GWh to the Argentine Interconnected. Its reactivation is a strategic priority, because it will capitalize on the investment already made.
