Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Energía Argentina is in charge of bid and award the cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to meet peak seasonal demand for natural gas in winter. To do this, account -in a partnership with YPF - with a regasification terminal located in Escobar, Buenos Aires, which operates through a vessel regasificador (FSRU, for its acronym in English).
This terminal is operational during the year, focusing its activity in the winter months when demand increases, essentially replaces fuel liquid alternative more expensive.
Cargo
Impulsando un proceso transparente, desde 2017, la contratación de los cargamentos de GNL se desarrolla aplicando procedimientos certificados por normas internacionales de calidad ISO 9001. Energía Argentina transmite vía streaming la recepción de ofertas. To specific situations or operational needs, such as assistance between carriers, or maintenance of gas pipelines, import smaller volumes of natural gas from Chile for electric power generation in our country.
The natural gas system is interconnected with the neighbouring countries, thus allowing the attendances among nations to demand situations particular.
We have a system of interconnections with the neighbouring countries.
In this interconnected system, Energía Argentina manages the export contract for the provision of natural gas with the company ANCAP from Uruguay. Through this contract, the supply is provided to meet the residential and commercial demand of the neighboring country, as long as it does not affect the domestic supply of our country, with Energía Argentina maintaining the right to withhold and/or redirect natural gas quantities.
Additionally, natural gas is occasionally exported directly to Brazil, and in the near future, it is expected to be exported indirectly through neighboring countries.
