The central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) today approved a credit of $ 185 million to increase the transport capacity of the Pipeline Perito Francisco Pascacio Moreno, opened last month.
The works, which will be financed by the credit of the BANK, consist of the construction and provision of 4 turbochargers in the trace of the pipeline: two extra on the Tratayén and Salliqueló and two new to the height of Chacharramendi, which will increase the transport capacity by 9.5 million cubic meters per day. The total investment of the project is $ 200 million.
The loan was managed jointly between Energy and Argentina and the Secretariat of Economic Affairs, and International finance, the Ministry of Economy, by Marco Lavagna.
The president of Energy Argentina, Augustine Gerez, stressed that “this loan is a strong endorsement of the program of expansion of gas pipelines that we're bringing forward, and demonstrates that with planning, effort and commitment, the argentine could we address fundamental works to put a value on our gas from Vaca Muerta”, and remarked that “with this work, we continue to advance at a steady pace to achieve the desired energy sovereignty”.
“These compressor stations are needed to supply the second stage of the Pipeline, between Salliqueló and St. Jerome, which will allow us to definitively change the energy matrix and productive for our country,” concluded the official.
It should be noted that the Pipeline Perito Francisco Pascacio Moreno injected to the backbone network 11 million cubic metres per day: when the conclusion of compressor plants of Tratayén and Salliqueló -that are now under construction - will reach 21 million cubic meters per day. With the works financed by the BANK that volume will reach 30 million cubic meters per day.
