Energy Argentina and the company SIAT SA today signed the contract for the provision of plumbing pipes for the Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner and his complementary works. In this way, Energy Argentina advances to a firm step in the realization of a work of strategic importance for our country.
In this regard, Augustine Gerez, the company's President, stressed that “the signing of this contract is a major milestone for this transformative project, which without a doubt will make the course of the Argentina in the next 25 years and leads us towards energy sovereignty,” and added that “this reflects the huge effort and dedication that we assign to the project for which the same can be in operating condition in accordance with the schedule bidding of construction”.
In the signature were present Dario Martinez, Secretary of Energy Federico Basualdo, Undersecretary of Electrical Energy, Maggie Videla, Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, and for Energy Argentina, Agustin Gerez, the company's president, Gaston Leydet, deputy director-general and the directors Victor Bronstein and Mariano Barrier.
“The pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner will make it possible for sectors including residential, commercial and industrial our country's access to energy at competitive prices, which by the international situation became in a position to be critical, thus boosting employment and production.”, explained Gerez.
The contract involves the purchase of 582 km of pipes 36 inches in diameter and 74 km of pipes of 30 inches, which will be used for the first stage of the Pipeline, Néstor Kirchner between Tratayén (Neuquén) and Saliquelló (Buenos Aires) and its complementary works.
The Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner will allow us to extend a 25% of the system's ability to transport natural gas from argentina. In addition it will be critical to the development of production in Vaca Muerta, as it will allow the input arrives to the major consumption centers of the country, improving its entirety, the behavior of the gas transportation system.
