The minister Sergio Massa, the secretary Flavia Royon, and the president of Energy Argentina, Augustine Gerez announced the tender of a fundamental work for the Northwestern provinces to receive the gas from a Dead Cow.

Through a video conference also participated in the announcement, the governors of Salta, Gustavo Sáenz, Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, the minister of Finance and governor-elect of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, and of Tucumán, Juan Manzur, as well as the lieutenant governor of the province of Catamarca, Ruben Dusso.
Also present were General Manager South of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), Jorge Srur, the General Manager of CAMMESA, Sebastian Bonetto, and the members of the board of Energia Argentina Mariano Barrera, Victor Bronstein and Mario Metaza.

Royon also emphasized the need to resolve any eventuality in relation to the supply of gas from these provinces by which the Reversal “was prioritized, before the second leg of the gas pipeline Kirchner, because it was really urgent. The works will demand an investment of 710 million dollars, much of which is covered with a loan from the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), with a contribution of $ 540 million.
The whole of the work consists in the construction of a new pipeline of 122 km of extension between the towns of Tío Pujio and La Carlota (Córdoba), for which you will use pipe is 36 inches in diameter and 2 loops (enlargements) of 62 km along the Pipeline North, with spouts of 30 inches in diameter. In its turn, will be the reversal of the direction of injection of the gas in 4 compressor plants existing in Córdoba, Santiago del Estero and Salta.
The Reversal of the Pipeline North will take the gas from Vaca Muerta to the industries of Córdoba, Tucumán, La Rioja, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Salta and Jujuy. It will also allow the connection of households to the natural gas grid and the scale development of new industrial activities, especially the mining of lithium.
In addition, the Reversal will impact at a low cost of generation of electricity and natural gas to the industries of the region. In addition viabilizará the realization of exports to the north of Chile, to the centre of Brazil and Bolivia.
With his habilitation planned for before winter 2024, thanks to this project will generate 3,000 direct jobs, 12,000 indirect and the country will get an annual saving of 1.960 million dollars.
