Energy Argentina carried out today the opening of bids for the Reversal of the Pipeline North, a complementary work of the Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner which will carry gas from Vaca Muerta to the northern provinces of the country. In the act, which was headed by the president of Energy Argentina Augustine Gerez at the headquarters of the public company, has received 3 offers: BTU SA; PUMPCO INC. and the transient binding TECHINT-SACDE.
“We are taking a fundamental step in this work is funded by CAF and that will allow us to cater to the north of our country with the gas from a Dead Cow and the total replacement of the gas that is imported from Bolivia, which implies a saving of 1.960 million dollars, and complements the Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner”, stressed Gerez and added that “the Reversal of the Pipeline North will be the first project that inauguremos with the minister Sergio Massa as President of Argentina”.
The work consists of the construction of a new pipeline between the towns of Tío Pujio and La Carlota, Cordoba, of 122 km of extension pipe is 36 inches in diameter; 2 loops (enlargements) of 62 km along the trace of the Pipeline North, with spouts of 30 inches in diameter; and in the reversal of the direction of injection of the gas in 4 compressor plants existing in Córdoba, Santiago del Estero and Salta. Will require an investment of 710 million, of which $ 540 million will be provided by a loan from the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean -CAF-.
This new challenge that will continue to Power in Argentina is part of the complementary works of Stage 2 of the Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner, who will join the town in the buenos aires province from Salliqueló to San geronimo in Santa Fe.
The Reversal of the Pipeline North to take the gas from Vaca Muerta to the industries of Córdoba, Tucumán, La Rioja, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Salta and Jujuy, as well as the connection of households to the natural gas grid and the scale development of new industrial activities, especially the mining of lithium.
In addition to lowering the cost of electric generation and natural gas for industries of northern argentina, this work strategic generate 3,000 direct jobs and 12,000 indirect.
