The Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner continues to progress in its construction: this week began the descent of pipe welded to the ditch on the km 440 of the trace, in Turn, province of La Pampa.
This key phase of the project takes place after the commissioning of the system of automatic welding of pipes, a technology that is used for the first time in Argentina. In addition, it has set up two plants, welding of double board.
The drop tube is a procedure that is carried out through a set of specific teams: the tiendetubos, working simultaneously and in a coordinated manner, with an ability to lift up to 60 tons each. These machines handle various sections of approximately 1,000 metres of pipe, 36” diameter, that were already soldiers and desfilados (placed) along the trace.
Then, we proceed with the placement of the column is welded in the open trench, previously carried out by teams of trenching. This process has completed, it moves with the stuffy and recomposition of the land.
The operators of the tiendetubos were specially trained to handle this type of complex equipment, that require maneuvers of great precision.
The construction of the pipeline was developed simultaneously in different areas of work, with the goal of accelerating the times.
With an area of 573 kilometers, the construction of the Pipeline, President Néstor Kirchner, in charge of Energy Argentina, will save more than 2,900 million dollars a year in replacement of the import of fuels and reduction of subsidies, an increase in the availability of gas at competitive prices, and generates 10 thousand direct jobs and another 40 thousand indirect, between the construction of the work and the increased gas production in Vaca Muerta.
