The president of Energy Argentina, Augustine Gerez, together with the minister of the Interior, Eduardo de Pedro, the governor of Neuquén, Omar Gutierrez, and Pampa, Sergio Ziliotto, and the secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón, today held a tour by one of the main artisans of the Pipeline, President Néstor Kirchner, located in the province of Río Negro.
Also took part the president of YPF, Paul Gonzalez, the director of the area South of Techint Engineering and Construction, Gustavo Gallino, and the president of SACDE, Damian Mindlin, among other officials.
During the tour, the minister Pedro appreciated that “these works have to do with the supply of power to each one of the peoples of the interior of Argentina. For us, when it comes to the gas to an industrial park, the productive matrix changes.” The holder of the portfolio of the Interior also pointed out that “when there are jobs to the length and width of Argentina, we feel an Argentine federal. We understand that the employment does to the dignity, makes the possibility for the argentine families to sit back down at a table to enjoy a family life.”
For his part, Augustine Gerez considered that “this visit represents a historic moment, because it is the materialization of a project that, without a doubt, is going to transform the Argentina. A project that comes to consolidating a proposal that was started in 2012 with the law of sovereignty hydrocarbon”. And then he added “the schedule comes running normally, even we noticed some sobrecumplimiento in any of the schedules. That obviously has to do with the commitment that you have put the companies, which have built-in technology of the last generation.”
Finally, Flavia Royón highlighted “the decision taken by this Government,” the launch of this ambitious project, which will “not only energy development for the growth of our country, but also the implementation of the plans of investment in Vaca Muerta”.
The workshop is located at mile 60 of the trace of the pipeline, which starts in the town neuquén of Tratayén and concludes in Salliqueló, Buenos Aires province, and corresponds to the section 1 of the said work, which, like the section 2 carries out a joint venture built by Techint and Sacde.
Facilities include a campground, office, collection center for pipe and a welder industrial double-board, which allows to significantly reduce the construction time.
The Pipeline, as President Néstor Kirchner is a work of critical and historical, that will allow to increase the production of Cow's Dead (the second book of non-conventional gas in the world), expand the transport capacity of gas and get to the centers of consumption. This will replace imports, and will realize an annual savings estimated at 2,900 million dollars.
The first stretch of the GPNK will have a length of 573 km, and join the town neuquén of Tratayén to Salliqueló in the province of Buenos Aires, crossing the Rio Negro and La Pampa.
