The pipeline Mercedes-Cardales, complementary work on the Pipeline Perito Francisco Pascacio Moreno, began the phase of transportation of gas, which enables you to save a journal in the summer of $ 4 million per day in replacement of imported fuels.
The work consists of a pipeline of high pressure of 30 inches in diameter and 80 kilometers of extension, to transfer gas from Vaca Muerta from the backbone system of the south to the north.
The supply of the gas Pipeline Mercedes-Cardales is possible on the basis of the 11 million m3/day of gas, which currently provides the Pipeline Perito Francisco Pascacio Moreno from Vaca Muerta, through the section “Tratayén-Salliqueló” and the extension of the Loop of Ordoqui in the system of TGS.
During the summer, the new pipeline Mercedes-Cardales will be able to replace liquid fuels for the generation of electricity in Thermal power Plants of Santa Fe and the northern part of the Province of Buenos Aires, by approximately$4 million a day.
Once the Compressor Plant of Mercedes, which is currently in execution, the pipeline Mercedes-Cardales may transfer up to 15 million m3/day from TGS to the TGN, thereby allowing the substitution of u s$6 million a day on average liquid fuels for thermal power generation in Santa Fe and north of Buenos Aires.
Through this work, planned by Energy Argentina, it provides greater flexibility to transfer between the transport systems of high-pressure operated by TGS and the TGN in the area of GBA, providing reliability in the supply to large urban centres and reducing the need for imported natural gas.
